You really get to know great people and learn about many different cultures, all while learning Japanese.

Alexandra from Spring 2017

Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

I enjoyed the trip to the Edo Wonderland and also the hanami trip we took to Shinjuku park.

Why did you select this program?

Many students from my university had attended the program and had good experiences.

What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?

I found pair work and homework to be helpful activities.

Were you pleased with the general living arrangements? Anything you especially liked? Any problems you experienced?

I enjoyed the Ikebukuro dorm a lot. The location was great, near a central train station and other fun things. The dorm manager, Lean, was amazing and really helpful. I enjoyed living there.

Going to class every day, and the workload, gave me a sense of what living in Japan would be like. I was able to learn Japanese daily, as well as have enough time in the day to study and explore the country.
