The most productive part is probably the conversation practice, it truly helped improve speaking skill.

Christopher from Winter 2023

Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

A particular highlight was the graduation ceremony. A real treat to attend.

What were the most productive and interesting aspects of the program for you? The least interesting and productive?

The most productive part is probably the conversation practice, it truly helped improve speaking skill. Most interesting? Probably the pitch-accent work, I've never seen that before. It's hard for me to say anything was unproductive or less than interesting. It was all fantastic.

What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?

Again, the conversation drills were excellent, and the constant writing practice was exceedingly helpful.

What did you find most valuable in the Culture Course?

I barely attended because I hurt my legs, but the trip to Odawara was spectacular.

Anything you especially liked in the living arrangements? Any problems you experienced?

No problems at all and nothing particularly exceptional. Just an excellent dorm. Though, Iwai-san was absolutely amazing.

Testimonials

I highly recommend KCP for its focused and encouraging program. The opportunity to practice speaking and comprehending Japanese during class, in conversation sessions, and in day-to-day life was an invaluable experience for which I am very grateful. KCP’s staff and instructors are nothing but helpful and there is no question that they are dedicated to the dissemination of the Japanese language.
