There was just a ton of useful information to take in and absorb.

Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

Asakusa, Edo Wonderland, and the Edo Tokyo Museum were all fantastic, but my favorite trip was the the Kamakura trip.

Which co-curriculum classes did you find most satisfying?

Special classes on Fridays and the English support classes were very helpful.

Why did you select this program?

The program was withing my budget, I couldn't find any reviews online that spoke poorly of the program, and also, the time fit within my schedule so that I could take off a semester of school and work to come to KCP.

What were the most productive and interesting aspects of the program for you? The least interesting and productive?

The most productive aspect was speaking Japanese in and outside of class. It helped concrete the information for me so that I could think on my feet quicker in situations where I needed to respond quickly. Also, every cultural excursion was a great insight into the Japanese way of life. I can't think of anything that I did at KCP that was not productive. Even clubs gave me a chance to practice speaking with people in Japanese.

What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?

The grammar notes was extremely helpful for giving examples of new material. Pair work during class was really helpful as well, because it forced me to speak with people. It also gave me chances to catch not only my mistakes but others as well, so we were all helping each other become more fluent.

What did you find most valuable in the Culture Course?

There was just a ton of information to take in and absorb, and it was all useful to me. It helped me to better understand Japanese culture and it was all very interesting.

Any further thoughts or tips for those considering the program or new KCP students?

I have people ask me all the time how to start making video games, doing 3D work, or get into the web industry and my answer is always the same, start today. There is no better time then now. I believe that is true for anything, whether that be Japanese language fluency or anything else you enjoy. I couldn't be happier with my experience at KCP, as it has helped me to become better in reading, writing, listening, and speaking Japanese. I couldn't recommend the program more, as the senseis are all extremely helpful and willing to spend extra time speaking one on one with you if you need help or want some extra practice. The classes really challenge you to try your hardest, and if you work hard you will most definitely improve. Learning along side classmates that were at the same level as me gave me plenty of chances to improve. Everyone is really encouraging and overall I would say if you are considering going to KCP, do it, I couldn't speak more highly of the program,
